Replica Engine

Postby johnnyseven999 » Mon Apr 17, 2017 12:42 pm

I'm trying locate a stationary replica engine similar to one for sale on eBay to fit inside an old truck I'm building

(http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Caterpillar-1 ... 1667586626)

Problem is at £57 the seller wants another £36 for shipping from Australia ( probably wouldn't cost that to ship the real thing).
I understand the unit is no longer in production

Does anyone know of a similar unit ( not necessarily Caterpillar) for sale. I've seen the " clam shell" type which encase the motor on a truck, but again these are over £100 with shipping ( quite expensive for what I want)

I told on Saturday someone in Italy produces die cast replica engines which are quite good, but cannot find them anywhere.
Any 6 cylinder 1:12 or 1:14 engine will suffice for the job

just had a look at that one...

diecast.. might have a little bit of weight...
Dimensions are about right.. 50mm wide will fit nicely.
Unlike the ones, there's no provision to fit a 540 motor into the back of it...

I've posted stuff your way before, and if its over 200g the postage skyrockets.
What you've been quoted is about right for AusPost. FedEx or DHL probably wont be any better.

have a look at Exclusive RC... they do a hollow CAT or CUMMINS to fit over the 540 size motor...
