Do you think I buy one of these and just place the electronice into the gatso?

what sscale is '4mm'? is that 4mm to the metre? (1/25)?

looks good, it says adjustable.. could be possible to run some wires out to trigger it from a sensor instead.

The term refers to the use of 4 millimeters on the model equating to a distance of 1 foot (305 mm) on the prototype (1:76.2). It is also used for military modelling.

4mm represents one foot...hmm..
..
hmm... mm<>feet.... (that makes sense.. )

...either way, '76 scale's going to be too small...

This looks interesting:

Found this description of how it works:

It is connected to two sensors that are made on the wire below the road. When the magnet of the car goes over sensor one, a timewatch in the microchip of the speedtrap starts. When the magnet goes over the second sensor, it stops. The microchip in the speedtrap calculates the distance between the sensors [default= 2"] with the scale 1:87. Then it shows up on the panel.

This is rather useful info. If this model was increased in scale then you could make the same thing with one of those bruder lane signal trailers and also incorporate it into a scale gatso. It would mean everyone would have to put some magnets on their trucks but I think it would be well worth it!

dont need reed switches and magnets...

couple of tactile switches would be the kiddie....its a simple timer circuit, once cancelled it says ok 2 seconds,

in the code you have

<3 seconds :(
>3 seconds :)

very basic and lovely...

Hey barneydog,

I've no idea about how to programme anything apart from the V+ remote control to my TV & even that took a day and an age to get right.

This just seemed like an easier option for someone like myself who is a complete newbie to electrics, soldering and the like.

That is unless you would like to teach me the A to Z of program

You mean like the premade circuit board that is included with this kit & altering the "trigger switches" that you "told" me about?
