the laser sensor looks like it could do the job, but at US$95 it isnt cheap.

a white LED and a phototransistor should be able to do the same job, and the handfull of parts should cost less than US$10...

we need an elecronics mater to do it. me personally am crap with electronics. wanted to do it in college but to do it i nedded to do something else i wouldnt fancy doing.
